Hugger Mugger

Robert B. Parker

This was just OK. Fact is, a poorly written Parker novel is still a very entertaining read.

Drop Shot

Harlan Coben

This was an entertaining read, but predictable. Also, the main character (Bolitar) seems a little too 'perfect' for me. Maybe it's just this novel?

Microserfs

Douglas Coupland

Great book. Had to decide whether to give 4 or 5 stars. I was thoroughly entertained... could be because I work in the industry and I know people just like the characters personally!

Wizard's First Rule

Terry Goodkind

Huge and intimidating, I plowed through this book in a couple days! (800 pages!) Easy to read, and very addictive! The rest of the series didn't keep my attention quite so much, but this book is great!

Format C:

Edwin Black

This was an OK book and an entertaining read, but I wasn't really enthused with the way the kabbala and religious mysticism was intertwined throughout. I had bought it for a techno-thriller, not knowing that Black was an avid student of judaism.

The Monkey's Raincoat

Robert Crais

Good first novel. Reminds me very much of early Spenser novels (maybe why I liked it?) but more modern. I'm hoping Crais can keep with this theme, but expand Cole so he's not just Spenser in another guise.

Hush Money

Robert B. Parker

After several lackluster Spenser novels, I was very pleased with this one. Although not my favorite (could Parker's best writings be behind him?) it's a solid showing for Spenser and company.

Cryptonomicon

Neal Stephenson

This book was great. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the size! Incredible novel, but very intimidating.

Poliquin Principles

Charles Poliquin

Good coverage of Poliquin's principles on weight training. Not particularly well written, but lots of good information.

Protein Power

Michael R. Eades, MD & Mary Dan Eades, MD

What I would call "the layman's guide to a low-carb diet". Offers enough practical advice and scientific evidence to get you well on the way. It's not huge and wieldy, so it's a fairly easy read.

Positively Page

'Diamond Dallas' Page Falkinburg

Great story of what can happen with lots of hard work. A kid from the Jersey shore moves onto managing night clubs and then becoming one of pro wrestling's most recognizable figures!

Arn Anderson 4-ever

Arn Anderson

In a word: weak. I expected so much more. There was so much more to this story and throughout the book, I was just waiting for Arn to 'break kayfabe'.

Have a Nice Day!

Mick Foley

Fantastic! A long read, but very personal. You pick up the book to learn about an incredible worker, and you set this book down having learned about an incredible human being!

Dragonlance Chronicles

Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman

To coin a phrase, this is the 'grand-daddy of them all!' These three books (Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, Dragons of Spring Dawning, together in an anthology) were the original stories that sired the entire Dragonlance universe of books. Great stories and well written. If you like fantasy novels, you need to get this one!

The Ketogenic Diet

Lyle McDonald

If "Protein Power" is the layman's guide, this is the expert's handbook! Lyle goes into every detail of planning and building a ketogenic diet. The best part is, if you have questions, Lyle answers email really fast! (Sorry Lyle...:) Although complete, it's truly a technical journal and not an easy read (why it's only 3 stars!)
