Annie Takes Silver at Golden State Open

Ann Shiraishi competed at the Golden State Open at the Sheraton Fairplex located in Pomona, California. This Senior E-Level Event attracted competitors from around the state and was Ann’s first tournament back since her gold medal performance at the Finnish Open last November.

The former Senior National Champion and 2008 Olympic Alternate was uncontested in the 48 kilogram category and opted to compete in the higher 52 kilogram weight class.

Ann went 3-1 to win the silver medal and gained valuable tournament experience in preparation for the US Open, which will be held in San Jose October 25-26, 2009.
