FAQ

  • How old do you have to be to do judo at EBJI?

We accept children from 5 years old. There is no upper age limit.

  • How much is the tuition?

When you first sign up, the introductory rate is $250 per student and $125 for every student in the same family thereafter (2 students $375, 3 students $500)

This introductory rate covers the first month of tuition, USJF membership (our national governing body, which is a requirement for all members) and a brand new judo gi.

  • What are the monthly dues?

As stated above, dues are $125 per month for the advanced class, or $100 per month for the other classes for 1 student. Family discounts are available, ask about them when you sign up.

  • Do you have a drop in fee?

Yes, the drop in fee is $20 per class. Please make sure you bring your current USJF, USJA or USA Judo membership card as proof of registration.

*PLEASE NOTE* We are not currently accepting any guests due to COVID

  • Are there any other hidden costs?

No. However, since we are a non-profit organization and all of our instructors donate their time to teach, we frequently do fundraisers and ask for donations, but it is not a requirement of membership.

  • Do you offer student discounts?

We do not offer student discounts at this time.

  • Where can I get forms to join?

You can come by EBJI (address on top right of this page).

  • How do I sign up?

If you or your child would like to try a lesson before signing up, we do offer a free trial lesson. If you are interested, please come to the dojo 10-15 minutes before the appropriate class time to fill out some paperwork and borrow a uniform for that day. No appointment is necessary.

*PLEASE NOTE* We are not currently offering trial lessons due to COVID. Please contact us below if you’re interested in joining.

For all other questions, please feel free to contact EBJI.

  • What are your COVID protocols?

We have the front and back doors open to improve ventilation. In addition, we have 6 air purifiers running during and after class to improve air quality. Mats are disinfected after each practice and all high touch surface areas are wiped down routinely. All EBJI instructors have been fully vaccinated.
